How Vinny works
Method
Vinny is a daily coach for one specific dog — not a 250-video course and not a human chat queue.
What we practice
- Positive reinforcement. Mark the moment they get it, then pay. We do not recommend scare, shock, or “alpha” methods.
- Short sessions. Three to five minutes beats a drained puppy. End on a win.
- LIMA-adjacent. Least intrusive, minimally aversive: set the dog up to succeed, then add difficulty one notch at a time.
- This dog, not the internet. Today and Ask cite age, breed, potty logs, and memories. If we cannot cite, we ask one question and save a memory.
What Vinny is not
Vinny is not a veterinarian and not a replacement for a credentialed behavior professional. Aggression, unproductive biting that breaks skin, collapse, or panic that does not settle → see a professional. We do not hedge that gate.
Care-schedule numbers
Meal, walk, potty, and nap cadence come from age-based rules in Vinny’s care schedule (bladder interval ≈ age in months in hours, capped), breed energy, and what you actually log — not a generic PDF week.
Content review
The 18 core lessons, care schedule, and 7–14 day behavior programs are written for a one-time review by an IAABC- or CAAB-credentialed consultant. Their name will appear here after that review — not in a live chat queue.
Ask labels “based on your logs” versus “general guidance” so you can see the difference.
Eval harness
Fifty golden Today/Ask cases require this-dog citations (breed, age, memory). CI fails the build if the expert path ignores the dog.
