Privacy Policy

Vinny (“we”, “us”) helps puppy owners with personalized daily care plans and coaching. This policy explains what we collect and why.

Information we collect

  • Account: name, Sign in with Apple identifiers, and optional email.
  • Dog profile: name, breed, age, sex, and care preferences you enter.
  • Usage: care plans, journal entries, memories, health records, household membership, and Ask Vinny chat messages.
  • Community: posts you choose to share with other Vinny owners (and reports you file).
  • Media: photos or short training clips you choose to upload for coaching (Vinny Plus).
  • Walk location: GPS points collected only during a walk you start, used to draw the route, distance, and pins for pee, poop, and photos on that outing. We do not track you when a walk is not in progress.
  • Purchases: subscription status processed by Apple In-App Purchase on iOS and Stripe (Apple Pay and card) on the web. We do not store full payment card numbers.
  • Diagnostics: crash and performance data (e.g. Sentry) and product analytics (e.g. PostHog) when enabled.

How we use information

  • Generate your daily care plan and coaching replies.
  • Build a walk recap (route, distance, and pins) for an outing you start.
  • Remember facts you ask Vinny to keep about your dog.
  • Unlock Vinny Plus features and enforce fair-use limits.
  • Improve reliability and prevent abuse.

AI processing

Free Ask Vinny answers use on-device / server rules when possible. Vinny Plus text and photo coaching may be sent to OpenAI (or a similar provider) to generate replies. Do not upload sensitive personal data you do not want processed by our AI providers.

Sharing

We use infrastructure providers (hosting, database, analytics, AI, and App Store billing). We do not sell your personal information.

Retention & deletion

You can delete your account and associated dog data (including walk routes) from Profile → Delete account, or by emailing support. Deleting your Vinny account does not cancel an Apple or Stripe subscription — manage or cancel from Profile → Manage or cancel subscription (Apple) or Manage billing (web). We retain records only as needed for legal, security, or billing obligations.

Children

Vinny is intended for adults caring for dogs. It is not directed at children under 13.
